I "toured" Brooklyn's 3 LFS recently, here's the report combined the 3 stores:
Spadefish mislabeled as Batfish.
Figure-8 Puffers, Greenspotted Puffers, Monodactylus Sebae, Red-Claw Crab, Blackfin Shark in FW.
Too many ID Sharks to count, most had ich, were injured from nosing the glass, or in tanks that were SO overstocked I got claustrophobic.
2 male Betas in a tank with Mollies, Platies, and Guppies.
I saw Blue Channel Catfish that has fins SO shredded they could barely swim. I looked and saw a Jewel Cichlid in there

Don't get me started on overstock.
7g tank with a 2'' ID Shark with ich (and a 1/2'' Apple Snail that was accidentally put in there. I wanted him SO bad but Mom wouldn't let me

10g tank with Red Tail Chalceus and Black Ghosts infested with ich.
Betas in baseball-sized bowls...with GRAVEl...yeah, give them even less room.
Chinchilla in tiny cage.
Guy stocking feeder mice dropped one.
half dead Tiger Oscars.
Blue Channel Catfish, perfectly good fish, being used as feeder-floater clean-up crew. Trapdoor Snails in every tank, including in amphibean tanks

I hate seeing fish in the shops like that its not fair at all. poor fish
