Yeah but I'll need someplace to get fish.

A chain petstore would probably be better than this place. You need to find someplace else. Patronizing this store justifies (to the owner) the poor conditions in which he keeps his fish.

Did you tell them about the conditions and suggest ways of ameliorating them? Unless you did, you've got no right to come and blast them here.

When I'm in a store and they've got issues, I get the manager and go over it with them. By understanding the deplorable conditions and not doing what you could to get them changed, you simply allow the store to continue what they're doing.

I don't really want to piss them off. Also being my age (13) I'm not sure how seriously I would be taken. It's Brooklyn, so it wouldn't be taken too kindly. (lol) I saw one of the managers screaming at a lady over a cat, a deaf person, and a translato.

This store sounds like it needs a whole lot of work to get things right. I can't fault a store for ick. It comes in shipments and seems to be more invasive in the winter months. I can fault a store for not properly treating for ick and for practices that encourage ick to thrive.

wow that sounds bad. personally, i wouldnt buy fish from a store like that. id tell the manager that his fish are in deplorable condition and that you have never seen fish that were worse off.

id order online-there are breeders/sellers everywhere! lol

I love it when places operate like that. Taking advantage of noobs most likely. In the business of selling live animals, how do you stay in business if you can't provide the proper care?

I live in Brooklyn too and most of the LFS' are bad but I know a few good ones. Which one are you talking about on this thread? Let me know if you need the addresses to some good ones.

Replied, sorry so late. I've recently started a saltwater tank so I'm more on saltwater forums.
