Brown algae like crazy now

My tank has went crazy with brown algae the last few days , it's a 55 gal planted tank with 4---48" t8 6500k lights . I leave the lights on for most the day , prob about 13-15 hrs . Any ideas

new tank? probably diatom...it will go away naturally, or you can get a clean up crew

less light. that's way too much that's probably why you have algae problems. make sure you try to physically remove it aswell

With a tank that's tall like that and old school t8's that's prlly not that much light. Obviously 15 hours of light is way way way too much and is likely the culprit, try 8-10 hours max, dose seachem Excel and spot clean!

or get some bristlenose plecos...not common plecos

+1 or maybe a kissing gourami (cleared most algae on my planted 30g within 2 days)

Molly's are fantastic for algae as well.
