Will plecs eat brown algae?

one of my tanks without a pleco in it is beginning to develop brown algae on the rocks and glass... if i were to transfer a pleco into the tank, will he eat it or do they just eat the green algae?

give it a try. it can't hurt the pleco. my pleco ate a darker, more black algae and was fine.

if you have brown algae
then you need to cleen your tank

when i clean the tank (remove all decore and fish) and clean all visible spots, it comes back in a week or two. even if i keep the lights on only 4hrs a day.

what about a regular sailfin? i dont know the L#ing system
its will work but gets 2 feet and is a huge bioload even small

if your tank is heated, doesnt have very large or aggressive fish.
look in to a school(atleast 3) of otocinclus catfish(only get inch long). those little guys crushed all the green algae in my tank, theyd probably eat brown too
