Hi all,
Discus are doing fantastically, but I realize I made a mistake ordering my fish. There are 2 more strains I want, but I was planning on getting them when a pair formed. Now, I realize that by the time a pair forms, my discus will be quite a bit larger, and I don't have room for another tank to grow out Juvies to put in my main tank. I need to buy now then, and since I dont see it being reasonable to pay the ever high shipping price for two fish, I have to stay local. So here are my questions:

1. What is a nice brown based red discus I could get for around $40.00?
How about a spotted strain for around $30.00?

2. Any places with these types of strains for these prices, in the PA, or NJ area?

Thanks!

save some money on shipping and recieve off colored, oddly shaped, culls. not a smart choice since you will be buying all over again when you are unhappy. you don't want juvies and want fish for 30-40 dollars? probably find them at many lfs' but you'll get what you pay for.

In NJ go to www.discusmadness.com This is a privite dealer and has some really nice discus I would make arangements to go there and pick them out your self you may need to make appointment with him to do that.

I ordered from them once. Everything I ordered I gave to my lfs the next day. They sent me the most peppered ugly shaped pigeons you have ever seen in your entire life.

Ive had good and bad from discusmadness, I am VERY pleased with hawaiidiscus stock though, he was out of a strain I wanted so he sent a breeding pair to make up for it.

RFI or something in indiana, dont waste your time, they are dirtbags.

My experiance with DM is you have to go pick them yourself and you can get some nice fish, otherwise caveat emptor.
