Wouldn't keep them together. A 70 gallon isn't big enough for the two of them. They need there own space. I would just focus on the one that you have for now

if the tank has large peices of mopani and grapevine wood as well as the walls since they have bark tiles on them would they have enough space my female stays on the ground most of the time except for sleeping she was in a 20 gallon with another female the same size it is still available should i get that one instead or will it be fine with the brown?

2 females green its better however the fact that they got along in the dealers place doesant mean they will do the same in your home, the better is to introduce all animals at the same time, in your case she already has "ownership" of the place wich would put the new one in disavantage. In a aquarium style enclosure its also harder to put the 2 basking places that would be required.

I know your probably sick and tyerd of me saying this but check out what would be the ideal home for your basilisks and that would allow you to

keep the 2 females much more at ease. There is space for every animal to properly climb, swim and to have a termal gradient. And you could do one CHEAP! (the door glass wich is the most expensive part can be replaced with plastic mesh wich is better for climbing)

no i still wouldnt do it. the amount of wood bark tiles you have it the enclosure isnt going to change the size of the enslosure. it just gives them more to climb on.

what is your exact reasoning behind wanting another one?

what are the dimensions of the tank?

could it be that my basalisk likes hideing in the plants at the bottom of the tank because there are alot of plants at the bottom as for the crop it only appears when the lizard head bobs

that could be. im not really sure when it comes to them.

if he likes hiding int he pants you can always put some up high. i do this with my monitors and it works real well. the more cover you give him the happier he will be.

you might be able to. sometimes no matter the size of the enclosure some reps will just never tolerate another. for the most part it is against there nature, most are solitary int eh wild and to put them into a small enclosure and expect them to get along is alot to ask. there are exceptions to this rule, and im not sure how basilisks are, ive never kept on for long periods of time.

a taller enclosure might help but i would still be ready to seperate them. how tall were you thinking about? and how big is the enclosure you have right now? and do you have any pics of your current setup?

depending ont eh footprint you might be able to add height to the current cage you have faily easily. you could frame something with 2x4 to stit on top of the cage and then wrap it in plywood and put your glass in the front. that way the lower half of you cage would be completly water tight and you can add alot to it for cheap.
