I've been looking around the Knifefish section and I didn't reallyy see much about Brown Ghost Knives? I USED to have one who I named Clyde. I was surprised because he hid at night, not during the day. He refused EVERY food except flake, and I could even hand-feed him. Then one day my male Krib had an epic spazz attack and broke Clyde's back and killed him. Has anyone else had the honour to keep the Brown Ghost, or am I the only one?

from what i have heard they can be good in groups, or is it the african brown knife (not really sure about it)

That would be the African Brown Knife

Brown Ghost Knives are a bit harder to come by. I don't know why  I think people like the Black with the white stripe at the end of the tail while the Brown looks faded. Just my guess.

Yeah I don't know what the Black Ghosts is all about. Sure their colour looks sharp but they get pretty massive and some get mean, where as Brown Ghosts only get like 10 inches or something and are a lot more community safe (in my experience). The Blacks sell like hotcakes up here, and its like $35 for a 4 inch specimen.

Brown Ghost Knives are less popular because they COST the same out of the amazon, but Black Ghost Knives can retail for about 2x as much $$ because of their striking pattern.

I picked up my last Brown Ghost when it was hiding at LFS.. set me back $8.

ive had 2 brown ghost knives.. there alright. all they really ate was flake food and frozen blood worms.. mine were active swimming around both during the day and at night.. i wouldnt get one again though.. clown knives are way cooler.. the black ghost knives are alright too, but they hide a lot..
