Brown Ghost Knife

Not rare, but pretty uncommon in your local fish stores. I would definitely get it for that price...they are an amazing fish...just like any knife. Browns stay pretty small too, only get about 12" max.
My only issue is that I already have a black ghost in one tank and a clown knife in my other tank...
Well, what size tanks are each of them in? If they're large enough, the black ghost knife and the brown knife could work together successfully, but no guarantee...some just don't get along and some will fight over the same territories.
Black ghost is a baby 2-3 in 75 gal grow out. The clown is currently in a 125 gal. The brown ghost at the store is 4-5 in.
Personally, I would try and see if the african brown knife is compatible with your BGK...but thats just me. I would also be prepared to get a bigger tank if you want to keep them together for life...Your CK will outgrow the 125g eventually, so I would use the 125g as a future home for your brown and black knife (if you did get the brown) and buy a bigger tank for your CK when the time comes.
I'll let you decide whether or not its a good idea or not...trying to house them together could work, but then again, it could not work.
& I forgot to mention, brown knives temperaments are generally semi-aggressive...some are not at all aggressive though ...Browns are also said to have the best personalities and are one of the more active knife fish.
Thanks for the input! I think that it would be cool to have both a black and brown ghost knife. I am moving to a new house the first of the year and it has a large basement that I plan on building a large plywood tank with my kids. That should make a good home for the clown.
Yup, you should be able to make a real nice home for the clown! Hope the brown and black get along. Let me know how it plays out. You might have to get more places for them to hide for it to work out btw. GL
Its not an African brown I have two of those in another tank. This is a brown ghost knife. I did get him. So far no issues between it and the black ghost. One moment when I first put it in when they tried to share the same place. Now they are in different sides of the tank.
