Probably they are now captive bred. Not sure if this has effected growth the way it has for polys. But will get 15inches surely. Keep it long enough and can get 18-20inches.
Perfect thanks a lot !

Because it will get too big or stay too small ? there is a ton of different max sizes on internet and i really dont know how big they will get

in my personal experience they drastically slow down in growth around 6-8" and rarely get past 12" alot of the max size confusion is due to the misidentification that is common with spiny eels. My main concern would be when the peacock eel slows down it won't be all that thick in comparison to the bichir and brown ghost knife

so you think it will get will get harrassed even in a 150 with a lot of gravel to burry itself, plus the brown ghost will grow slowly and stay a lot smaller than a black ghost with what i have read online

with a peacock eel I'd do sand not gravel. I don't think the bichir or ghost knife will be a problem but when adding other fish I would use the eel as the determining factor when deciding whether or not to add another fish

Its that my tank is already filled up with gravel, right now it is already inside gravel and the eel is able to burry itself. Would it be ok

Should switch to sand. The eels have soft “skin” and can easily get damaged with gravel. Would provide a hiding spot and see if it stay in there.

I would have wanted to stay away from sand because it looks harder to vaccum but looks like ill have to switch. I've always liked the look of sand though so that's a plus

not to hard to clean i mean look i have sand and it is not hard as long as you move fast learned that the hard way :/

I didn't know brown/black knives were captive bred?
Been a while now. I believe it’s done in Indonesia. Basically if it’s smaller than 6in then cb.
