Brown Knife possible ICH?!

Okay just bought him, and after looking I realized he had the white bumps on his right pectoral fin.. :irked:

I treated ich on my other fish recently with the salt method, are knife fish sensitive to salt? for my 55gal I used a salt ratio of 0.02% and it cured up fine, would this work for the knife? or would it kill the knife?

This is my first one and I dont want him to get sick, the ich seems to not be bothering him and only on the one fin..

I can try and get one right now if he is out he usually comes out when I put flakes in the tank, he hasnt been flashing at all. I thought I looked him over really good in the tank before I bought him, and in the bag.. guess not :irked:

I am sure they dont have ich ALL the time, I have never seen one with ich before.. Isnt ich very contagious to the tank mates?
 
OKAY I cant get a picture of the spots, but I noticed he has a white marks on his eyes also!!

Here is a picture I made of the white areas on both his eyes, the side with the white spots on his fin has a more noticeable white area on his eye!!

The one side shows you where the white spots are on his fin, I dont see any other spots on him though... could it be something else?

He should be fine.That eye thing is just the glare of light reflecting off his eyes my CKF has it when the light is on. I think because he is new and that it is only on the fin that you should not worry about the whitespot. Love the Pic :)

It looks kind of like a cataract almost.. but I will take your word for it, Ill look at him when the light is off, he is so friendly.. I love that little fish! He comes up to me every night when I feed my bichir and nibbles on my hand.. isnt hand shy at all.
I think the spots might be from him being in a tank with about 8 other knife fish and they were picking at each other or something.. I dont see any other marks on him so I am hoping this is what it is.

I am getting rid of the tinfoils in the tank and getting silver dollars so he doesnt feel threatened and might stay out more during the day :)

LOL I figured he should look happy in his picture, I mean, I saved him from petsmart, and possibly living in a 10gal his whole life
 
YAY! No more white marks! I think it was where he got picked at from the other tank mates he was with.

After I got rid of the tinfoils he comes out more often, and really gets going when I put bloodworms in
 
^^^ you said you're getting silver dollars, if you get them from petsmart PLEASE quarantine them first, i work at one and ive never seen a shipment that didnt have ich, they're incredibly susceptible
