Somewhere
My giant gourami has a bruised looking spot on his side. I just want to double check that its a simple injury as he has injured himself on the driftwood in the past, though has never created a bruise. I have attached a few pictures. Please take a look and let me know if it's something i need to treat or simply let heal. As a note the scales are a little lifted. I figured this could be due to inflammation. I just want to make sure it's nothing else that's aggravating his scales and causing a bruised look. Thanks. 20180814_131831.jpg 20180814_131940.jpg 20180814_131844.jpg

Looks superficial. Keep the water pristine. Would watch and update for changes.

Look into dropsy just to know the symptoms and make sure it's not the start of HITH.. probably just a small injury though.. just when you said the scales are protruding it got me thinking

Looked at dropsy. I dont think it's that as that seems to lift all of the scales; not in a isolated part. I forgot that my boyfriend did a waterchange over the weekend. I'm now just thinking he scuffed himself during the water change. I'll keep an eye on him and make sure to keep the water clean so he doesnt get a infection. My main concern was having potential parasites under the scales as I have never dealt with that. I figured it was a low chance but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for both of your inputs. I'll keep you updated as he progresses.
