My jack is a very vicious fish and does not like company. I have a 4 foot tank and would like to add new fish but everytime i do i find them half eaten on the floor of the tank. The only fish he will have in HIS tank is a bristle nose (thats bigger then him). What fish do you recommend i add. Please Help.....

I would buy 6 silver dollars and then see if he calms down. This assumes you have the room in your tank.

If your Jack is as aggressive as you say I wouldn't add any other fish at all. He will most likely just kill anything you put in there. Has he been by himself for long? If he has been solo for more than month he will not want to share his space.

You didnt say how big he is. Dempseys are not really the maniacal killers of the Cichlid world. Theres a long list of fish that can teach him a lesson. What ever you put in there make sure they're bigger than him. Red Devils, Parachromis, Convicts, Green Terrors and even Pacus could put him in his place.
Why is everybody talking about teaching the Dempsey a lesson. The poster has a 4 foot tank, so if you add any parachromis or amphilophus I think the dempsey may get killed.
