problem,,,,brutis has started dominating my oscars to the point where they hide all day, hes beautiful but my oscars are loved more by the wife, iam going to try rearraging the tank again,,,if this doesnt work then i might have to sell him:cry:
so is there people located in England iam in dorset that like and could house a jag like brutis<located below in link>

unless of course someone has any great ideas

You could try taking Brutis out of the tank for a week or so AND re-arranging the decor. That would allow the Oscars to establish new territories in the tank and feel like owners of the tank for a week. Then you put Brutis back in (after a week) and that should make them evenly matched cuz the Oscars would have territories to guard.

Jags are more aggressive than oscars. It may work, but I am doubtful. What size is the tank?

tanks 5ft/2ft/2ft
i had this situation before with them and removed brutis for about 6hours rearranged tank the re added him and it worked fine for 5months ish until now,,,,

iam thinking of going with him to my lfs to swap, but would prefer someone on here to buy him,,,,,,mbunafishkeeper?you still intrested in brutis,,,,
i dont want to lose him,,,

hey nelly, i cant give u an answer as of yet, i cant put anything else in with my jags and my festae tank also has no room, i may be able to get hold of another tank for time being, if not my dad could be interested also.

i would try doing what you done last time, remove him for maybe up to a week if possible, re arrange tank and let others establish territories then put him back in, last time didnt you build up a wall out of decorations which held him away for a while. i hope you dont have to be rid of him tho, u love that fish!

you could also get a divider and let him cool down for a week or so?? go to the LFS and ask for some filter grid, 2 sheets will do it that'll cost you around a fiver per sheet but they work a treat. my dad uses it with his RD occasionally until he cools down a bit.

thanks for the reply,,,,yes i will try that later when i get home,,,,i love brutis as does wife till he goes and picks a fight,,,it is usually only flaring but thats enough to annoy wife

ok well ive rearranged tank, let oscars get settled,,,,left for 6hours then re added brutis, he went straight back to normal,,,,so iam going to have to reluctantly sell him

Sorry to hear about this happening Nelly, your Jag is a beauty. Hopefully you can find him a good home.
