could a 12inch brycon get along with 1 8 inch peacock bass 1 7inch cobra pike 1 16in arowwana and 3 redbay snooks 6in in a 150gallon tank(i will be upgrading in the coming months

the arowana might be in trouble.
itll move too slowly and wont fend for itself.
get more dithers.
brycons are mean SOBs.

I say the Brycon kills everything,especially a 12incher I had a six incher that raised hell in my 180 the moment it was released and it started with the biggest fish in the tank,a two footer.

Think this would depend on the sp of Brycon, so hard to make any comment on this when you dont know this sp we are talking about.

I had 16" Brycon that never touched a thing.

the most common ones,brycon dentex are mean SOBs.
whitei are also very mean...
these are the only two i have experience with though.

Like saying all catfish are mean cos you have kept a wyckii, best to get a few more facts before commenting. This generalization gives some sp of fish a bad reputation, when it is completely undeserved

i never said that.
im talking about the species that you will most likely find.
maybe i wasnt detailed enough.
and yes,even some individuals within the "mean" species can be timid.
but im just stating the general fact for the species as a whole.
you'll never know til you actually have the fish right?

See you have done it again. there is over 70 sp of Brycon, so quoting a "general fact" for the whole genus based on two sp you have kept.

Well what sp. did you have?I dont know whats available in the U K but the two that Channa mentioned are whats mainly sold here not the 68 others that were mentioned.I see these fish all the time in lfs tanks because people turn them in due to aggression.
