Well what sp. did you have?I dont know whats available in the U K but the two that Channa mentioned are whats mainly sold here not the 68 others that were mentioned.I see these fish all the time in lfs tanks because people turn them in due to aggression.

I had Brycon cephalus, so does that mean i know how every Brycon sp behaves? no it does not! Thats why i think its better to start with finding out which sp we are talking about, before giving information that could be wrong. And if B dentex and B whitei are aggressive, you discount another 60 odd sp is a massive generalization the Brycon are aggressive.

I dont know what you know, thats up to you.I do not discount the other species in any way nor am I generalizing the species as a whole,I'm writing from my experiences on the fish that are available here and I am almost willing to bet that the one that the op is contemplating is a Dentex or the other one.If you take it as a generalization then thats a problem you have to deal with.

I see no other information you are contributing to this thread other than questioning my post's, and guessing what sp it could be.

Wow.

Want to be helpfull? Acknowledge the fact that there are only a few Brycon species over here and the ones that are available are generally aggressive.

Knitpicking every word of people who are just trying to help isn't going to do anyone any good.

You are correct DB my intent was only to help.I definately didnt start out critisizing anyone nor was I in the mood for a pissing match. The early morning Pepsi may have caused me to take his post the wrong way.

^ I know..... My post wasn't directed towards you, I understand you were just trying to help.

I guess the original poster needs to post a pic so Wayne can ID it.

Like i said at the start, not worth commenting on till you know the sp.
Sure Channa and Krichardson dont need anyone kissing there ass. :)

I'm outta this crap!!

Why leave? You're the one with all the Brycon experience.

Are you here to be helpfull or just point out inconsistancies?
