Hello, my LFS has a good sized Brycon, probably 10" for sale. It is in with alot of other fish and has been in there for probably 6 months or so. I have heard they kill tankmates, but this one seems fine. What do you think? Its going for $60 and if it can work out, i would like to get it. I have a 150g with a leiarius pictus, dats, sailfin pleco, fire and spiny eels. Thanks!

There may be hope if it has been in the tank for that long with other fish and no problems.I had one before and it raised hell the second it was reeased into my tank and it started with the biggest fish in the tank.

What kinda brycon?
Good question but I doubt if the store staff know the answer. Two stores out here recently had tanks full of the one that have the red tails and they were labeled as barracuda and priced at seventy bucks. They were packed in the tanks and were tearing each other apart. The 150 should be okay .

There's quite a few different species of brycon but this red tailed one seems to be the only one that is brought in.The dorado has a big family also.
