So I have two Emperor 400 filters on my 75g. One of the filters has slower flow and produces some sudsy kind of bubbles on it's side. Go to the other side and the other filter has stronger flow and crystal clear, bubble free water at the surface. They were purchased close to the same date so I'm not thinking age has any thing to do with it. Any ideas on what might be the problem and any solutions?

happened to me a long time ago.

I'm not sure what the exact cause was, but clean out the entire filter (using your existing tank water) and then just start doing 30-50% water changes every other day with minimal feeding.

should do the trick.

maybe there is a hole. and air is being sucked into ur intake tube to the turbine. and only coming out on one side?

i got the idea from the melenium 2000 i have.

it has that spout if you lift it water level goes down but air is put into the mix.

I have a bunch of 400's on our tanks and I've run into this before. Clean out the impeller housing and make sure that you clean out the spray bars for the bio wheels. When your rassembling them make sure that you put a thin coating of vasoline on the rubber o rings to prevent air leaks. If none of this helps out your flow problem then you have an impeller with a weak magnet and it'll have to be replaced.
