It is the media. Fine stuff on the bottom and more coarse on top.
I don't use pads at all. Just bio mac and other kinds of stone
I had this problem for a while, not any more

Would fluval cnodes cause bubbles cuz if been noticing them too.

They shouldn't . Maybe there's air getting in from the intake tube. Try using small hose clamps

Oh like the top tube that connects to the hose? Cuz recently I've moved it and its bent where its plugged into eachother. Like its in the clamp

when did the micro bubbles start showing up... cuz i just hook up my fx5 and NO bubbles so far....

Mine is the same way, although it looks sealed there. Worse case I'll use sealant there.
