Nice!

Why are you doing a 90% water change? Anything over 50% risks shock in some pleco species. Anytime I have to do more than 50% I acclimate them like when new. Years ago I used to loose an occasional pleco after a >50% water change when I got back from vacation. I now have no problems with > 150 plecos with less than 50% water changes for any of my > 30 species.

Nice plecos....is ther anything wrong with the water? 50 percent water change should be goon unless something is wrong with the water.

I couldn't of said it better myself.

Very nice I love these guys.

I see nothing wrong with large water changes. I do arpund 85% on each tank when I do water changes now that I'm down to just a few, including the tank i have my 14's in.
If you dont it regularly then maybe you could run into trouble. I have never had an issue with it.
I also strip my filters once a week of all floss as well.

IMO if you need to do that big a water change you aren't doing them often enough. Doing 40% changes twice as frequently is far better than a single 80% change (again IMO) as its not such a drastic change in water parameters for the fish and it doesn't allow the nitrate to accumulate for as long.

Nice looking L14s tho, they're great fish!
