This is my tarp pond re-do of last year. This project is on a zero budget, using/recycling building materials i had laying around. The only money i have in this project is in fasteners (screws..cap nails) and tarps. The project is a long way from finished. Final goal is to insulate and heat for winter use.
This is what the old tarp pond looked like drained.

Quick framing of windows. Yes i know there not framed properly.

Picture of the upper deck/lower deck. I would have built this pond larger but i have a small yard.

Starting the dig of the bigger pond.

Frozen clay sucks. Hole halfway there.

Starting to enclose the area.

Filling it.

Full of water.

Killer, my little helper. She loves chasing the fish around.

Overhead picture from upper deck.

I had to include a picture of our hunting dog Chloe. Has nothing to do with pond. LOL

This project originally started because the ole lady wanted a pond in the yard. So i dug a hole and threw in a tarp. Then decided to put a deck around it so were not in the mud/grass swampy area of the yard.
Then it was getting to much sunlight and algae bloomed so i put an awning over it.
Over the winter had to put the fish inside because pond wasn't big enough. So what started as a small project has really become a larger one.
The new pond's dimensions are 7'L x 5'W. The inside dimensions are 7'L x 3'W x 3'D, and the shelf area is 7'L x 2'W x 18"D which comes out to around 629 gallons.
Filtration is gonna be a Diy setup and the goal is to get this thing enclosed before winter. My final goal is to enclose the upper deck and lower deck with rough cut Amish hemlock to get the cabin look.
Unfortunately my house needs a new roof and a lot of finish work done inside that i never finished when i built my new addition so she could have a large kitchen. Considering my non existent budget i'm happy with the project thus far.
Thank you for reading this and all comments are welcome.
