Budget 600 gallon pond build.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
is that type of tarp as good as the black pond liner? or is it temporary? i ask because i might do something similar, and i like the blue better.

great job!

Onion......that's actually not a tarp at all.....this is the bottom of a buddies pool that had the inflatable sides, some neighbor kids shot the sides with a bb gun and he was gonna get rid of it. Gotta be at least 45 mil. thick it's very heavy....LOL

I even took the sides and cut then up, gonna use them in the flower beds to keep the weeds away...tried that crap they sale and it doesn't work.

Here's a few photo's showing some of the progress i've made so far.

Got the door on....(not trimmed out yet) and all the windows installed. Also have the whole thing enclosed now.

Ran out of venetian blinds so i used some of my duck hunting netting.

More netting around the swing.

Got the molding done for around the pond. This is only temporary until i make something better.

Used an old night stand for the stereo system. It's not done yet but at least i got my sorround sound going. Also have the digital clock on it.

Built my Diy filtration system, don't like the cat litter container so i'm gonna by a 5 gallon bucket or something that will look better. Got everything wired with GFCI's, still gotta install the ceiling fan and have a lot of insulation and sheathing work left.
The weather has been crazy, had an inch of snow on the ground when i started today. Gotta love New York LOL

that is truly awesome. the best thing is the progression:D. wife wants pond, dig hole and throw in a tarp. crap, kinda muddy, build deck. want bigger nicer, redig upgrade to pool liner. well hell might as well just enclose it. :headbang2

it looks great from beginning to end, also love the fact that this was done on near 0 budget. its the only way to work

Seriously impressive on such a limited budget

all that work and i dont see a single beer bottle... i dont know how people dig holes without beer...

once you get the edges hidden thats going to look amazing

We call shovels hand held heaters, and i cant operate a hand held heater without beer either.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I can hardly wait until i get this finished inside and outside. As i said before i'm gonna use Amish hemlock on the inside and outside, it'll look like a small cabin...LOL
For the roof i'm gonna use some green tin. Just wish i had made the deck a few feet bigger, but i would have been to close to the road.
Thanks again for the positive feedback.

I finally got the trim work done.....

Got my bench built.

Would have had this room finished by now but we put in a 12' pool with a fence and a partial deck. And no it's not gonna be for fish.....LOL
