Buenos aires Tetra's eating plants

Hey,
So I just got 5 new big adult buenos aires tetras for my 55 gallon planted tank. Yesterday I noticed them nipping at some of my plants. Today when I went down to feed them in the morning, there was some decent damage done. A lot of my vals were chopped up as well as anubias, and pieces were floating all over the tank. What can I do about this? Should I be feeding them more, they definitely have full bellies?

they are plant eaters so there's not much you can do aside from try to keep them as full as possible at all times or just remove them from the planted tank.
