i use saltwater sands in my lake tang tank. i remove/replace only 25% of my water at a time. i recently did a 90% WC because my tank was leaning. i replaced the water very slowly to let the fish adjust to the slight difference. no one was lost

but they werent tropheus! i am gonna ahve to do a lil experiment and see how much of a pH swing happens with a 25% water change!

i just checked the pH of the local water supply. tap is 7.8 and i tank is 8.2. not that much of a difference so i dont have to worry. sucks for those with acidic city water

yea mine is almost exactly neutral! which is good for most fish! except for africans and some south americans!

if you want to use a product to buffer your water change water you can use a product called agrimilk .It is safe for rift lake fish and salt fish and is pulverised agronite or calcium carbonate dirtections are on the bottle .If you want to buffer your tank use agronite in the filter or some on the tank floor but in the filter in a filter bag works better..

Baking soda works well for bringing ph up to the desired level you want. As for most types of municipal tap water there are very very few if any that allow the water to be pumped out of their water plants at an acidic level. The corrosiveness would destroy the transmision lines at an extremely fast pace. Quite the contrary, most municipal water is in the neutral to alkaline range for this very reason as well.

Like I said don't know. Never tired it. Honestly is it that hard just to buy some online? See if the person you are buying your fish also sells NLS, they likely do if it is a place of any size.

Otherwise, you will likely have to look at a different place to find out about the percentage of fat, and it being ok...

from a great store and cost is shipped. It is 5lbs. I have a bucket as well. I have filled my 10.6oz three times and a large flake tub once and still have half left... the tub is air tight resealable lid... if you do a little searching you can find it even cheaper...

it is 55 and a 10oz is over 20... I have already used more than 100 dollars worth of it at that cost and still have a lot left.
