Yellowcat Yellowcat mines looking blacker and blacker.
Also 8-9" tl now and gone from 4-8+" in a year and a bit....
Did you blacks start off yellow like mine?
Just now noticed this post. In answer to your question, the black one I had was almost completely black with subtle tan tones from day one, not the usual yellow/gold/orange with black bands as with most bufonis found. Mine had come from Peru and grew to around 11-12". Your fish is an exceptional example of the species, very robust and good looking I must say. They will change colors to some degree based on environment and yours seems unusual in that respect. I've kept a few typically colored bufonis in the past and they retained the original colors for years. I recently noticed an new species of South American "bee Cat" for sale on Aquabid, said to be a 'rhyacoglanis cf. pulcher', a recently described new genus and species...
