So did the veyron catch it and mow it down past 200? It would be interesting to see them all go round the nurnberg ring with a good consistent driver. Acceleration is only a small part of what makes a true performance car, which is why I don't really get off on "muscle cars". Would be interesting to see the 0-100-0 times for these cars.

Sorry, why are we comparing 'crappy' American cars with European works of art, and where is the Lamborghini Reventon?

Why would you come on here with your "crappy" attitude and make a "crappy" post like that?

I posted the 412 because while it still hasn't made it to production (though Chrysler states they are "still considering it") its performance stats are almost identical to the Veyrons.Nearly identical top speed, very close 0-60 and its almost a ton lighter.

I added the aero because it is the car who stripped the veyron of the "fastest production car in the world" title as well as the "production car with the highest HP output" title. All the Veyron has left is "quickest accelerating and decelerating production car in the world".

I realize there are other cars that come close but these are the ones I chose.By the time I got done posting pics and stats for the three here I kinda felt like wrapping it up.I'll look into all cars mentioned here and will post data on them as well if their stats come close.

The Lamborghini Reventon doesn't have the performance stats to be considered a competitor of the veyron or the other two cars I posted for that matter.Do you realize its 0-60 is whole second behind the veyrons?Top speed almost 50 mph less? But since you think it needs its time in the spotlight lets have it.

Lamborghini Reventon

Engine: 6.5 L V12
Transmission: 6-speed e-gear
Weight: 3671 lbs
Horsepower: 650
Top Speed: 211 MPH
0-60:3.4 seconds

an stealth b6 ( wih is my fovorite if you talking about the vserion with a v10 bmw with 2 turbo's :d )

I looked into it and none of those cars have the specs to be considered a competitor to the veyron IMHO.

they all have a top speed of just over 200 and all of them are well over 3 seconds in their 0-60 runs.

So we're talking about comparing them on tracks, 24 hour Le Mans etc, but all you're comparing is 0-60 times and top speed.

:/

now you got it!!

were talking about cars with insane top speeds and 0-60 times and discussing which of those is the best performer and why.

The focus of the thread was cars with sheer speed here, cars that handle extremely well are another thread.Even if that Lambo handles like a dream I have a hard time believing thats going to put it in front of any of these other cars on any track in either a toe to toe race or a best time race.

If it had a chance against any of them it would be the Viper.

I wouldn't count on it. On a track like the nurnberg ring [which I keep going on about because its often used as a benchmark for just how quick performance cars are] handling and brakes are more important than all-out speed or power. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you can exit a corner going 5mph faster then it will equate to a higher speed at the end of the straight (unless of course its a huge straight and the car runs out of legs), or that if you can brake at a later point you are going to cut a faster time.
Power is nothing with out control.

i like the chrysler, but im biased:drool: the chrysler has a ton more power to give than what its tuned for, but im shure all these cars do. a quad turboed v12 putting out 850 seems weak, up the boost and you could go well over 1000hp, but will the car hook up then weighing so little? proboably not.

and as far as american crap goes, theres proboably not much true american parts in that car, more benz in that car than anything.

i doubt that car will ever be put into production, considering daimlier chrysler is no more, mopar is once again an american owned company, byby fance benz engine.
