anyone here have a link for building a crayfish trap and trapping them.

I want to trap them so that I can feed them to my bass.

Me too. My bass loves crayfish. I would appreciate info too.

lol was going to do a study on invasive crayfish in the UK, but didn't get as far as "how to make traps". I'm sure someone here knows, and i doubt its difficult. I remembered hearing they like bacon... or was that crabs i cant remember.

fine mess chicken wire.
make a tube, crimp one end, fold the other end in, shape it into a small tube so they wont get out as easy, bait release, come back, enjoy!
may want to quarentine

shrimp traps work good, canned catfood with holes stabbed in it is the best bait ive used.. another good way is if your fishing from a dock, take a fishing line and put a hook on the end with a chunk of trout on it, tie it to the dock and let it sink to the bottom, check it in about 10min or so and a crawdad will crimp on with his claws and will stay on until it leaves the water get a net that you can reach the watter with and net it as soon as you can see it, net it from the behind of it because it will swim backwards.

also i have used terrybullards traps, but litle to no luck with it. and the net i would use is a butterfly net from walmart that is like 2.99 duct taped to a long stick or pvc tube. the way with the line is illegal in some places, maybe all not sure, but its illegal where i am. but its only illegal if u get caught

just catch them with your hands. i'm 13 and i started catching them when i was like 7 or 8. you just grab 'em behind the pinchers so they can't get you. sissy:hitting: :j/k:

yeah grabbing them works but not everybody has the time to go looking for them

here are my plans
sorry for the long post

MATERIALS:
one large coffe can
chicken wire
twine
scissors
wirecutters
some kind of meat for bait.

PROCEDURE:

take the top off the coffee can
poke holes around the rim of the coffe can

place a square of chicken wire on top of can cut into circle slightly larger than the can.

cut smaller circle into the middle of the circle ontop of the can.

form a funnel out of chicken wire and tie it with the twine onto the circle on top of the can.

tie the top circle onto the can.

poke hole throughout the side of the can.

put in bait

tie a rope through some of the holes tie the rope to land and throw it into the body of water.
