They are just too cute!! I agree about keeping a watch on them. RI is common, especially in babies, and can kill. Another sign is them floating or swimming lopsided...of course, in my experience, they do that when they have gas too lol are you having problems with the sand?
Sorry about the sick DBTs Did you separate them from the others?
What kind of sand did you use and what method are you using to clean it? We used pool filter sand in our 150 and love it! Just syphon it, stir it up and we're done
I think the sand looks good and helps "light up" the bottom so the turtles are more visible when viewing from above. I'd keep the sand, maybe just use a thinner layer? What's the depth of it now? You could also add some sort of bottom feeding fish to help keep the sand stirred up.
Careful adding too many (especially babies from different places) at one time without quarantining first or you could end up with a bunch of sick/dead turtles. Also keep in mind their adult sizes...sure that tub is PLENTY big enough now but you don't want to end up with an overcrowded tub and fighting turtles.
We have two Northern Black Knobs and they're our favorites
I threw in some floating driftwood. And i wanted to see how the rocks look in there. I think they will look better as a pile in the center. Agree? Disagree? Suggestions? I took the sand out. Much easier to clean. Turts dont seem to mind!
