I would keep the pond away from my house and although there are factors that can make this viable, I personaly would not take the risk. If disaster struck it could get messy and very very expensive.

If I were to do it I would make a concrete wall at least a feet away from my outher wall and fill that space with as much drainage I could get my hands on. Moister inside a house is not something you want.

My main concern would be the moisture getting in between and freezing. water expands as it freezes, the space gets bigger, the water thaws and now theres room for more water, which freezes and expands...... not something you want happening up against the foundation of your house.

I can't even begin to tell you where to start. I have undertaken some crazy projects but I surpased them all with this. I'll just say you want to make very sure you are ready to take this on because it is a doozy. I'll help where I can man, seriously think it out, plan it out, have back up plans and safety precautions. Think of the worst that could happen then see if you could handle that. Let me know if you get stuck. All the best. I understand you idea is not exactly the same but it still concerns 1500 gallons of water and your home.
