building a 1000 gal concrete block monster tank

Very interesting, I can't wait until i move out and get some cash for a house where i can make something like this.
 
I just read through this whole thread. Unfortunately I can't see the pictures here at work. I mainly read through it for your experience w/ sani-tred. I spend a lot of time on a pond board and a fellow there had the same type of experience. The tactic the sales rep used is exactly the same. He called the user a liar and claimed improper technique in application. No sani-tred for me...ever.

However, everyone that I've seen post about pond armor and Butch has nothing but good things to say about them.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about sani-tred. I built a 560 gallon plywood in wall tank. I had NO problems applying the product or sealing the glass. I followed the instructions and everything went pretty easy. My tank was up and running for 6 months with no leaks or any other problems. I just torn down the tank last weekend because we are in the process of moving. I did get a whitish growth on the walls at first but after the tank cycled and settled down it went away. When I build a new tank in our new home I will use sani-tred again. Not to be a complete @ss but as they say at work must peoples problems come from OPERATOR ERROR.
 
I forgot to mention that I only spent about 600 to build the tank and stand. Thats all the lumber, sani-tred and 1/2 tempered glass. It only took me about a week and a half to build it working on it after work and on the weekends. I am not an engineer or a carpenter, I work as a fabricator in a steel shop. With a little research and common sense tanks are pretty easy.
 
No one has claimed that the product "CAN'T" work .. just that they are not a company which stand behind their product in a professional manner, as well as the fact that the "operator errors" as you call them are due to the poor quality of the product and it's customer relations department.

If you have read this entire thread you would see that it simply can not compete with other products on the market, I understand that you have had good luck with their product however you are trying to compare your 600 gallon plywood tank against Wizzins 1000 gallon Concrete tank? Your trying to compare apples to oranges which in this case wizzin even mentioned that the tank doesn't leak a drop untill it's over half full... which would indicate that it's not holding the pressure of more water. It seems that your just trying to start a fire which has already died down IMO (If I'm wrong I'm Sorry)

Best of luck on your next tank and make sure you document EVERYTHING ... not just for the Sani-tred complaint department (should you not be AS successful) but for all of us here that LOVE to see Tanks getting built ... :D
 
I'm not trying to start a "fire". I admit that I didn't read the last half of this thread, I read the first half about 6 moths ago and that is what got me interested in sani-tred. I'm sorry that wizzin is having so much trouble with the product. I thought the product did what it said it would, the directions need work but over all things went smooth.I was just throwing in my .02
