i have a question for everyone , i drain my old tank 125 gallon into my big tank and im using the old tank with everthing i had in their as my filter tank so i wont have to cycle my big tank , how long you think it need to be there or you think its done cycle , i dont have no trace of anything , but i was wondering is that cause i still got my filter tank from using the old tank , its been about 2 weeks now what you think ?? cause once i know im good im putting my filter tank under my tank , free some space up in my place ,,, thanks for the infor ...............

Are you adding any more fish to the new tank ? thats what would cause it to cycle by adding more of a bio load , if your keeping everything the same and basically just transferring everything over to the new tank you should be good to go imo

looking forward to the pics. was a nice read. and great work I hope you make a fool out of the rude person towards the end.

Thank you for sharing your build I learned a lot, or at least think I did  I am planning a build myself some day so all the information I can gather the better. Getting the tank water to the sump is just done via the water flowing through the over flow or did I miss something?

yeah , collect all the information you can , and go with what you think is the best ,, and yeah all my water going threw the over flows is going into my filter tank , i was going to do 3 overflows , 1 overflow can handle all the water flow , did more just to be safe , if 1 gets block 1 off and other can taker over , using all threw overflows work ,but at the end , just too loud , sould like a bath tub filling up when you have few thousands gallon falling thew pipe into the filter tank , which i have to say look cool , could see water fall threw the clear pvc , but too loud , i turn 1 overflow into a full siphon, and added a valve to throttle the water back little , other 2 overflows barely take 1 percent of the water flow , everthing mainly going down 1 overflow , good luck with yout tank , i luv too see plywood tank builds
