I need to build a larger cage for a 7 ft Columbian Boa and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to go about doing this? thanks

I built the cage that my 11' female boa is in and I have about $175 in it. For $100-$150 more I could have gotten a Boaphile cage that would be easier to heat, easier to keep proper humidity in, a hell of a lot easier to move around and MUCH easier to clean.
My next enclosure will be one from Boaphile, Animal Plastics or Vision.

But if you still want to build your own my suggestion would be to use 3/4" plywood with a smooth finish. If you spend the $60 on a decent sheet of plywood you eliminate the need for a 2x2 or 2x4 frame which causes too many hard to clean corners.
DO NOT just put hinges on a peice of plexi glass and call it a secure door. Instead "picture" frame the plexi/glass so that it can be locked properly.
Here is a pic of one of my home made enclosures. I will try to post some close ups of the way the door and joints are put togather for you.

Crap cant get the pics up. I will get some up later tonight.
