ok, so now i have a question. i see some of the intakes are at the surface like a skimmer, and some are below with the holes drilled in them, so what are the differences here? is there a pro or con to these two designs?
That`s what caught my eye as well. Darn if the thing didn`t work quite well. After much massage even got the gurgle down to livable levels(well, for me, not for heri prefer the "alternative" as it is simpler, to me looks cleaner
)Can someone tell me.....how does the water get to the sump in this example? Does this all just happen as the water is pumped back into the tank? Sorry, I'm new and don't get it......YET. HELP ME UNDERSTAND!!!CHOMPERS;2823652;2823652 said:Here's the layout of the DIY overflow.

Yes this design will pull water threw the pipes that is plumbed to the sump. The pump in the sump will push the water up to the tank. Which will create a vicious cycle. just make sure that the pump and the overflow are rated equal or have the overflow rated for more.BigFATTurtle;3416119; said:Can someone tell me.....how does the water get to the sump in this example?
