alright.
thisa is my first monster tank (home built) and i was gonna run my ideas through here and get some input and help. im thinkin of doing an 8' x 4' x 4' tank. the entire tank will be made of 2x4 studs for the frame and the viewing window will be made out of 1inch acrylic. after i make the frame i was just going to plywood the inside of the tank, fil lthe gaps. and seal it with some sort of pool sealant or something along those lines to make it water tight. this is still in the idea phase so any help is appreciated, i dont want 5oog of freaken water fillin up my house hahaha. anything helps

haha thnak you. i was just bein sarcastic lol..anyone got osmehting for me?

Based on aquariums I have always seen and from what I've heard, having a tank that tall 4' might be an issue. I'm no engineer, but I understand that height would put a lot of stress on the tank. Even though you are going to use acrylic, there would still be a lot of force pressing against your lumber/etc. Not trying to be a downer, just wanted to throw in some things I've heard about really tall tanks.

make it 2.5 ft deep and you wont have to go swimming for maintenence
