Milky Way Galaxy,
Could someone give me a walk through? i know ill need pvc pipes, collection cup, air stone, and somehow a way to get the water out? i googled but wanted MFK's help as i cant the site questions... it will be for a 700gal so ill need to know sizes of the pipes and airstone thanks.

for 700 gallons, i dont think an airstone will cut it. save your money and get a good skimmer., thats one peice of equipment you dont want to skimp on with a saltwater tank

but like a hardcore skimmer... am thinking tho. if its fish only and i'd be doing wc every 2 weeks (200gal water changes) do i really need one? and i'd be understocking...

What do you plan on keeping in the tank? if you want a healthy tank its always good to get a protien skimmer, if your doing a 700 gallon tank, why not get one?

plus if you can't afford a protien skimmer, then you probably can't afford the upkeep it takes to properly maintain a 700 gallon saltwater tank.

Agreed. Salt alone is going to cost you 100 a month at your proposed water change frequency and quantity.

Actually will cost $50 for 200g worth of salt. I can get the skimmer just wondering about other alternatives so I could have more $ for other projects buts it kool

There are a lot of DIY plans for building your own skimmer. An airstone just doesnt seem like a good way to go about it... you going to need a lot and also need air pumps that run on steroids
