Building a sump

i stole his design as well... slight tweeks here and there.... i think a lot of us have sumps that look prettymuch the same...

Right on man. I did my drawing in AutoCAD...still haven't learned Solidworks.

I am getting ready to turn a 29 into a sump and have made a few changes to my original design. The main one is getting rid of the sock. It seems impossible to keep it clean.

get rid of the last baffle. it has no use. and if your sump was to loose water atleast you would have more vou\lume to allow the pump to pump backup resulting in less chance of your pumpe burning out

i would leave it, if overflow gets plugged then the amount of water pumped up into the tank is going to be greater, personally i think a burned out pump would be better than a flooded floor.

exactly... and if you do it right yer pump can die and yer tank wont overflow the sump... and if yer drains clog yer pump will run dry without flooding the tank



fyi it took about 30zillion tries to find magic levels for everything on my setup
