4x4x4 is 480 gallons though; so is 8x4x2. Honestly I think your idea is silly; its a huge volume of water but very little swimming space. You'll have to use very thick glass/acrylic because of the height, and it isn't long enough for your proposed stock.

yes i know that.
space is a constraint.
i live in singapore.
its basically all apartments here.
we dont have space for huge tanks like you guys.
i wont be keeping all the stock permanently.
only until i get a pair out of my cichla.
then the tank will house only the pair.
also the reason i go so high is because i dont want to build a stand for it.
plus i like the look better.
