Cement works fine, use the Hydraulic Water-Stop Cement. You have to wash it properly and less it soak with alot of water changes but after that its fine..

alright, the concrete will come out tonight when i get out of work. Then off to the drawing board for ideas...Thanks for the input
i have made some small caves under the substrate with plexiglass glued together with aquarium sealant.

would those chichlid caves from that cool site do for a rtc or other cats? as thats what i am putting in my tank
