building my 125gal stand!!! total cost under $130...load warning

so don't need to reinforce the legs with 2x4s, but need to add cross support like shown in the photo, would a 1"x4" be okay for the cross support?

i would do 2x4 minimum since it acts as a back up support

I wouldn't bother the stand will outlast the tank as is. The screws will stop it from shifting sideways under normal use.

How were you planning on crossbracing the cinder blocks...
 
You'd be very surprised how strong your stand is already. The corners I posted were on the third stand I built, the first two are still in use today and do the job very well. I chose that method for that one because it took less than an hour to build. Guess I just posted for future reference.

The stand you have will work just fine, but for piece of mind I personally would cross brace it. Just my .02
