You never been interested in Wallago Attu???

do you have any up to date pics of the fish and tank??

Best regards.

I've had the Wallago leeri female almost 20 years so getting a W. attu was inadvisable. So although I like them they would not live long/well in the big tank. Remember the Wallago even killed the Goonch and Salton over time.

Whats a Salton??

Could the Attu not go in the 15k??

p.s. you got any recent/up to date pictures of the tanks?

regards

When I first saw Brachyplatystoma filamentosum it was called the Salton in TFH (Tropical Fish Hobbyist) magazine. Later Oliver Lucanus sold me one in November 1997 and called it the Jumper cat. That is the one I had in my big tank till the spring (last seen) of 2009. What is it called in England?

Th Atu would eat most of the fish in the 15. The water is only 6 feet deep. They need the 9 feet deep water in the 52 to avoid being eaten by the Wallago. When I lower the water in the big tank I almost always have losses of some my fish I did not want to lose by the pair of Wallagos and I am sure the 3 redtails also.

No new pics/vids too busy on other projects.

You have had a lot of great fish yourself please post some pictures/videos.

awesome tank and fantastisc fish

what are you using to heat the water? :)

I have had several systems since I started the tank just over 16 years ago.

1. A oil fired swimming pool heater 1994 to 2000

2. A really big oil fired swimming pool heater (made for an olympic swimming pool) 2000 to 2002

3. An apartment building size oil fired water heater 2002 to 2006

4. A large gas Rinnai tankless hot water heater with a heat exchanger 2006 to 2010.
Just modified by adding 300 feet of 1" pex oxygen barrier tubing to make it more efficient than just the heat exchanger.

I never tire of coming back to this thread.

An inspiration to us all!

Thanks for the explanation on the Salton. Over hear they're a rare sight. so i would not know a common name for one. I'd just call it a Filamentosum tbh.

You ever had any Sperata?

Not sure what fish that is.

Is it in the family Pimelodidae? What is it's scientific name?
