I just got a 300 gallon 6'x3'x27" perfecto reef ready tank. It comes with two returns and two drains. I am thinking about making the two bigger drains go into a 75 gallon tank with all bio balls and then the two returns drain into a 20 or 29g into two prefilter socks. So 4 total drains Then have the 75 and 20 or 29 plumbed together. Then have an external pump go into 3 3/4" return pvc from over the back every foot. Any input on this? Good idea. Plumbing tips? Glass good or bad to have drilled? Ideas on custom drip tray for the entire 75? Thanks in advance

sounds like an awesome plan, but I would also put some quilt batting (poly) on top of the drip tray for the 75. I'll catch the big stuff that goes through, quiet it down, and help disperse the water a bit. As far as a drip tray goes, you can use plastic peg board and support it with egg crate. (stiffen the egg crate by zip tying some PVC along the bottom).

I would also look into the reeflo line of pumps. IME they're the best bang for the buck.

Long run trio of P14 or Pearls. Right now

6-10in. Pacman Catfish
4-8in. PBass
4-10in. Tropical Gar
5-4in. Chinese Perch
8in. filamentousm catfish
12in. Bacu Catfish

Will be adding some Dats and Polys.

Be carefull if you redrill your holes. and make sure that your tanks you are drilling are not tempered I tried to drill a tempered 55 not to long ago and this is what happened. But 55 are tempered all over. just know what's tempered and whats not when you drill

Thanks, what drill more holes? Or buy acrylic and drill my own holes?
I've always got my own blank sheets and drilled my own holes, but the plastic peg board should be good up front.
