They are your standard blue led rope lights for indoor/outdoor use. I got mine at wal mart in the lighting department.

Today I decided to add some side rails on the moonlight so it will sit higher on my tank. Made it 6" taller and I didnt like the look of it, so I cut them down to 4 1/2". Now from a short distance away it looks like the fixture is floating/hovering above the tank. Its also slightly less intense and has a better over all feel to it now. Still havnt gotten around to painting it yet as I still need to block off the sides. I will update with more pics hopfuly within a few daysd of the finished product.

hmmmm cool idea, defintly might try this on my 72" tank.... might try either silver paint on the inside or just glue some tinfoilto the inside of the house for the lights....be even better if they were submersiable ;)

just checked my walmart online and all i can find is 33ft rolls for 52.73 ??

Pretty Creative:)

great build man. I've been thinking of doing something similiar with last years christmas led lights. what i was going to do is silicone the light strand to an old light fixture. Yours looks great. Makes me wanna go do mine soon as i get off work!!!!

Thanks everyone, I'm really happy with how it turned out. And to dim it down a bit I cam e up with the idead to cover the bottom of the light with basic screen door mesh. It brang down the intensity of the light just a little so its not as bright on the eyes.
