No need to to go to a 30 inch tall tank, you are looking for "footprint" not height.

Yep, less height less water pressure, which would be an advantage if you are building your own tank I would think.

ya but i was thinking if i build it higher i can add a silver arrowana... i have built my own tank before. it's was a little bigger 85"x30"x30" but i sold it a while back.

for larger rays I prefer the deeper tanks so when they swim up the side they have more room
