I live near a lake and in the summer large amounts of cabomba are raked up on the shore.
What should I do with the cabomba if they let me take it?
Seems to be some jungle val mixed in.

Got an ebay account? I see locally harvested plants on sale there from time to time, Jungle val is commonly offered.

I was thinking of setting up a propagation tank.
Or as a gift for local fish stores.
Or if anyone on here wants any for free.

I suggest dipping it in

Dip treat it or you will introduce unwanted critters to your aquarium.
I usually wash it off and pick out any yellow/brown foliage.
Dipping it in chemical treatments sounds like a good idea.
What chemical do I use?

Last summer I collected a bucket of it from a pile where it was raked up.
Was like 50 pounds and like 20 pounds after I cleaned it.

I rec'd a bunch of plants along w/ an infestation of snails. Somewhere along the way I had heard about a dilution of bleach used as a dip for tropical aquarium plants but couldn't recall the ratio. I tried a cup in a 3 gallon bucket for two minutes.

It killed everything including the plants.

That must've been one of the wrong ratios but I still don't know the right one (or even if there is one).
