bulk carbon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Carbon is extremely porous and adsorbant. It removes organic impurities from the water. So does purigen. It removes nitrates as well.

the second part I did not know, makes me wanna stop using dechlor.......

Yea, don't do that. If you filter water slowly through a carbon water filter you'll remove a good portion of chlorine, but it wont do anything for chloramine if your water company uses it. Stick with dechlor. :)

Carbon also removes trace elements and minerals required for healthy fishes, purigen doesn't. The driftwood will only leach color for a few weeks so just regular water changes will remove it aswell if time is not an issue.

In my opinion carbon is bad, and not needed.

Just my $0.02

Good Luck

Time isn't really an issue, but it has been leaching for more than 6 months. I'm going to try a litre of Purigen.

Maybe the water will clear up if you and your dog wouldn't play in the tank together!

Haha just use some purigen and you won't have a problem. It is really easy to recharge and not that expensive.
