I can say my 500ml bottle of prime can treat 5200 gallons(20000 litres) of water. I just checked my bottle, no expiry date though? I used to go through the other junk like crazy until I read the prime bottle at a LFS one day. Now it's been a year and I still have this bottle.

treats 20,000 gallons... thats 40 weeks of water changes..

also comes in cubes (5gallons?) might want to shoot johnptc a PM ive seen them kicking around at his place..

The $10 bottle of Prime should last a while if not buy the huge 1 gallon bottle.
