Bulkhead + chipped glass question.

Those glass chips are very minor and the holes held bulkheads previously without any drama or leakage so simply capping them will be fine.

or can reverse the bulkhead if you want. Gasket seal on dry side will work.

If you want to add glass sheet to close off these holes, do it on the outside for one or both holes. The glass doesn't need to be the same thickness as tank wall. Even 3mm would be plenty. Don't remove any existing silicon, just clean the glue area.

Decided to try a small amount of epoxy for the chip. Going to order bulkheads and caps.

I'm very confused about what size bulkheads I should buy even after looking at 15 charts... I used a micrometer, and got roughly 1.75" holes... 1.72" to be exact.

The bulkhead size doesn't matter since you are capping it off and not worried about pipe diameter/water flow efficiency.

Any size that covers the glass hole will do. A bit of wriggle won't matter. You don't need to tighten much there is hardly any water pressure involved.

I can see the outline of the old bulkhead perimeter in your photo. Just match that.

Ok so now, does this effect weather I choose schedule 40 or 80?

This may help. Based on your measurement of the hole it looks like a one inch Schedule 40 bulkhead. As you can see, schedule 80 runs larger.
