I am sure in most cases hat would work great. especially if you just had to install the bulkhead.
Part of my problem is my right arm has limited motion right now.
Other big factor, is that i had to thread my pipes into the bulkheads first. Those pipes pass through 5 holes, so they are not perfect. The pipes may have to give a little to set flat on the tank, so a little more then hand tight is required in my case

but even this time, i tightened them hand tight, then went one flat, or 1/6 of a turn.
Leting sisicone set well before i add some water for next test.
