Bullet proof check valves???

I installed HIGH quality ball valves--I simply turn off the pump, shut the ball valve no mess.
If the power fails there is no mess as the water simply stops moving, because the loop is closed...no air can get in.

This was never intended to be a closed loop system, since it would have been running a sump :)
 
You are correct.
Myself I do not see the advantage of plumbing the bottom of a tank unless I plan on moving a high volume of water. And to pull high volume from a sump you will cause micro air bubbles not to mention a wet dry filter can be over driven causing them to be less effective.

But it is looks great!
