agree, you could prob get 5 pieces around 1/2" and make the hole tank

Get some quotes on how much the exact same peice of glass would be to buy. After you've figured out a rough price, sell it for that price. If you were to sell it for $1000 for example, just think of all the possibilities you could do with that $1000. You could even buy another 6x2x2 setup.

It's total over kill for the depth tank you could build with it. I would sell it if you can and get enough glass for a whole tank.

thickness doesn't not block how well you can see the fish. most aquarums have 12" thick acrylic and then glass to cover the acrylic but i don't think you need to go that thick, unless you plan to shoot the tank everyonce in a while. it would be heavier too.

What? 12" maybe on massive whale tanks or something, but not 'most'.

The thicker the glass, the darker the green tint (unless it's acrylic), and the greater the refraction will be, so your fish look distorted. It also depends what kind of bullet proofing was employed. if it's just 3" laminated tempered glass, it's going to be ridiculously heavy. For a 4'x3' window, you could get 5/8" glass or 3/4" acrylic that would be way lighter and easier to look through.

thats what im worried about is the distoration it will have when i look through it, id hate to build a tank and have it look like crap.
thanks for the info guys i think ill sell it
any offers?
