Bullhead Cat being released today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hopefully he didn't take any domestic pathogens with him
I understand your concerns. Hospital tank and equipment was sterile before he went in. Primed the cycle with Stability from Seachem. Water changes were manual, not on my auto system. All cleaning gear sterilized before and after use and each of my tanks have their own cleaning equipment. No cross contamination. Pulled multiple microscope slides on him before I put him back. He was cleaner going back than he was coming out. Which is probably just as bad. All the natural parasites he was used to have fresh meat on the menu now.

I'm a licenced wild life rehabber by the way. I'm not in trouble lol. Fish and game has fin clippings for this guy and he's tagged now. If their labs had come back with something I'd have destroyed him.

I get where y'all are coming from tho. Average Joe with no background in micro biology, ecology and blah blah blah shouldnt do what i did.

Probably should have led with this.

You're a fish nerd... On a fish site. 2+2=4, not 5 hun. A fish nerd on a fish site is a good combination.

I apologize then. If you guys really want to know, I make my ligit living working for the Department of Forensic Science here. Degrees in chemistry, biology, micro biology, ecology...others... those pertain to work. Working on ichthyology and a few others because I love fish. Been passionate about them since I was very very young. Not used to putting all that out there because most people look at me funny and then avoid talking to me.

I'm not here to be a know it all or anything. I want to learn from all of you. You all have a collective experience and wisdom that is nearly infinate. I can read alot of books and sit thru alot of lectures...but there is practical learning to be found here

Now that is a very impressive background. Maybe on another day you could tell me a few stories about your life. It would seem as though you'd get a funny story here or there working there.

How can you be sure you examined entire fish? That would be very time consuming and nearly impossible...
